Verdict

CUSTOM CUT, 12 times a winner, is in the veteran stage and hasn't run over a trip this short since the 2015 Prix De La Foret at Longchamp. But this will be his first start outside of Listed or Group company for over four years and his overall quality should see him home. Rene Mathis would be receiving 10lb in a handicap but he's a specialist at this trip and has a fitness advantage so is by no means playing for a place. Kentuckyconnection has been aiming too high since his debut victory here in the summer of 2015 and, though having his sights lowered here, is up against a couple of smart performers. Miracle of Medinah is a decent enough handicapper but looks slightly out of his depth whilst Mount Tahan ran a fine race in the Spring Mile and is even better over this trip so can go well.
