Dicosimo, a Listed winner over hurdles despite having problems with his jumping, has shown little obvious aptitude for fences in his two starts to date. Blackmail, a dual winning hurdler, showed the benefit of his debut over fences with a better effort in a very strong contest at Leopardstown and should make further progress, though he finished behind DON'T TOUCH IT in that latter event. Jessica Harrington's charge, who won the Grade One Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown in April, has the makings of a smart performer over the bigger obstacles and will take some beating here. Cloudy Morning completed a hat-trick in minor handicap company over hurdles and makes his chasing debut but though O Ceallaigh has some decent form over fences, he didn't enjoy testing conditions at Limerick last time.
