In depth

Verdict

Aussie Reigns, a decent staying handicap on the Flat in the UK, will have found the minimum trip too short here in December but still managed to win comfortably enough. Livelovelaugh also represents Willie Mullins but he's struggled in a much higher grade after easily landing a Ballinrobe maiden. Carrig Cathal looked very progressive last summer and makes a quick reappearance after being brought down at Punchestown last week. Thirsty Work won a handicap in December and followed up in a novices' contest at Navan where DUKE CASS fell when upsides at the last. The latter looked held at the time but today's longer trip will be in his favour and he can gain compensation. Surf Instructor is very progressive and, though taking on much stronger company than when successful here last month, looks to have a big future.
