In depth

Verdict

URANNA's hurdles form entitled her to start a short-priced favourite on her chasing debut at Naas earlier this month but she didn't run as well as expected. She was having her first start since April and should have come on for the experience and can make amends though she faces strong opposition from Carrigmoorna Rock. Robert Tyner's mare, a Grade 3 winner over timber, couldn't cope with Emcon on her debut over fences at Clonmel in October but the remainder were beaten a long way and improvement is virtually guaranteed. Fort Gortnatona, a winning point-to-pointer, easily won a maiden hurdle on fast going at Wexford in the summer but had finished behind Kala Brandy at Clonmel earlier and the latter should do well over the bigger obstacles.
