In depth

Verdict

COMHGHAIRDEAS (NAP), the only course and distance winner in the line-up, hasn't run for a year when second in a better handicap than this at the Curragh. He can race from a 5lb lower mark and with his rider able to claim his 7lb he looks very well treated so gets the nod despite the long absence. Aspen Belle is also looking reasonably treated as she's only 1lb higher than when successful at Naas in November though she does better with a bit of cut in the ground. Dapper Power makes a quick reappearance after a close second to Polly Douglas at Down Royal on Friday so she's respected as is Brick By Brick, another returning from a long break. The latter won a Listed contest as a juvenile and was racing in much better company than this last season.
