Verdict

Jamie Codd rode two bumper winners last week and Gordon Elliott has snapped him up for MONBEG NOTORIOUS. A £155,000 purchase by Gigginstown after winning a point-to-point in May of last year, he needed his comeback run in March then produced a fine run in a huge field at the Punchestown Festival the following month. He looks a nice prospect for hurdling but this should do in the meantime. Cant Wait, who was disqualified after finishing first past at Thurles in March, was a little bit disappointing at Listowel last time after almost making all over 2m2f at Sligo. Now McGinty showed some promise in the spring but would need more here but Indrik was staying on over shorter at Galway and, with further progress likely, can get into the frame. Noel Meade's newcomer Clara Sorrento is in the same ownership as the selection and is one to keep an eye on for the future.
