In depth

On to the hurdles track now for what should prove a cracking contest though Flatfoot Boogie could be an absentee as he was engaged to run at Cork last night. Draycott Place had been mixing it with the best before landing a maiden and a novice hurdle but will need to go up another gear as will Little King Robin, who will enjoy the fast conditions. Lucky William proved himself a high-class chasing prospect when landing the Grade 1 Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown but that was over two years ago on heavy ground. Darwins Fox had Sailors Warn 4l behind at Killarney in May and there doesn't appear any reason for a turnaround but it's SIMENON who gets the nod as though it's over two years since he completed a double at Royal Ascot Willie Mullins' globe-trotter has competed at a very high level and will no doubt be aimed at the Melbourne Cup again where he finished a superb fourth last year.

Draycott Place (IRE) 5-2 (11-10) Led, joined into straight, headed 2 out, rallied well to lead again before last, stayed on well run-in, won at Limerick 2m 3f nh nov hdl in May beating The Plan Man (11-2) by 2l, 4 ran.

Flatfoot Boogie (FR) 8-1 (10-13) Close up, on terms 4 out, no extra from before 2 out, lost place from before last where not fluent, 8th of 15, 14l behind Pivot Bridge (9-7) at Killarney 2m 1f hcp hdl in May.

Darwins Fox (FR) 7-4 (11-0) Raced in 2nd, challenged under pressure from before 2 out where left in lead, soon clear, stayed on well run-in, comfortably, won at Killarney 2m 4f hdl in May beating Sailors Warn (11-6) by 4l, 6 ran.

Little King Robin (IRE) 5-4fav (11-7) Made all, reduced lead from after 5th, pressed and jumped left 3 out, asserted 2 out, soon clear, stayed on well, easily, won at Down Royal 2m hdl gf in Jun beating Ningbo Express (10-4) by 4 1/2l, 4 ran.

Lucky William (IRE) 4-1 (11-10) Tracked leaders, 2nd halfway, headway to lead early straight, ridden and jumped left last, kept on best under pressure run-in, won at Punchestown 2m nov chs G1 hvy in Apr '12 beating Blackstairmountain (11-10) by 1 1/2l, 7 ran.

Sailors Warn (IRE) 13-8fav (11-6) Chased leaders, 3rd 3 out, no impression under pressure from before next, kept on run-in to go 2nd close home, 2nd of 6, 4l behind Darwins Fox (11-0) at Killarney 2m 4f hdl in May.

Simenon (IRE) 7-1 (11-12) Tracked leader in 2nd, dropped to 4th halfway, pushed along in 5th 3 out and no extra approaching straight, 5th of 6, 40l behind Bog Warrior (11-4) at Punchestown 2m 4f hdl hvy in Dec '12.

Annie Other (IRE) 5-1 (11-7) Held up towards rear, progress into 4th before 2 out, 2nd in straight and ridden approaching last, no impression on winner and kept on one pace run-in, 2nd of 9, 2 1/2l behind Big Generator (10-9) at Wexford 2m 1f hcp chs 0-123 gf in Jun.
