In depth

Verdict

The McGregornator lost his action on his debut and showed that running to be all wrong when beating an odds-on chance in very heavy ground at the Curragh. He has a penalty to carry and is up against a pair of Ballydoyle newcomers. ISTAN is from the first crop of the stable's top miler Excelebration and out of an Oaks runner-up. He'll know his job and looks better at this stage than stable companion Ambiguity, who is related to five winners. Eacharn has looked moderate in his two starts at Dundalk but today's conditions may suit while Slains Castle cost 200,000 euros.
