In depth

Verdict

Not the easiest of races to fathom but the tentative vote goes to old-timer Parish Oak ahead of Jacksons Pier. The last-named is one of the least exposed in the lineup and if improving on his recent chasing debut, he must rate a big danger. The form of that run behind Milan Deux Mille has since been franked by the winner going in again since so he must have leading claims today. However the selection has a lot of experience on his side and his latest third to Milton Des Bieffes looks pretty useful in the context of this weak contest. Tony Carroll has his horses in pretty decent form and as he runs off the same mark as last time out, he must be fancied to go close. At a price Kercabellec could go well (similarly matched with Parish Oak on Milton Des Bieffes form), whilst Pinkerton Mill makes his chase debut today and wouldn't have to be out of this world to win here. Ultimately we will side with experience and plump for Parish Oak to stand tall and lead them home.
