Every seemingly decent horse at the five day stage seems to have disappeared so in the absence of the more illustrious types, MURCAR might be the answer to this puzzle with Sandofthecolosseum and Theologist put up as alternatives. A fair staying type on the flat for Clive Cox, he is now with Alison Thorpe. Although unproven on the surface, the fact that he has won over the extended two miles at Wolverhampton suggests that the trip will not be the reason why he gets turned over, and as the dam is an In The Wings mare, he has to be given a fair chance of acting on the surface. Sandofthecolosseum has had a couple of chances already at this level. The drop in trip is a worry so connections will be raindancing ahead of this meeting on Sunday. Theologist has got a high BHA rating though this seems to have obtained for a decent run in a much better contest at Sandown. He is in receipt of allowances against his elders so these factors alone are likely to make him quite a short price. Montiyra's recent second obtained in a plating affair. Bach Street Girl has a likeable pedigree though her recent run over three miles was moderate. The fact that the 12-year-old, Cashel Bay figures so highly in the market says it all in relation to the rest. Murcar does have to be taken on trust though that hopefully will be reflected in a better price for the punters.
