Verdict
Monteforte gets the vote here ahead of Riders Revenge and Again Jane. Monteforte is by Alflora out of the Cesarewitch winner Double Dutch and, if inheriting just a little of his mother's ability, must have a good chance of winning the bumper. Riders Revenge showed promise on his bumper debut and was immediately sent to the Cheltenham Festival, where he finished tenth. One subsequent run was indifferent but, now with Venetia Williams, he can put his experience to good use and run well here. Stern Leader was fourth behind a Venetia Williams-trained runner on his debut over course and distance, displaying a little promise. Little Fern is out of a mare who won five chases at around three miles so should stay well, while Luristan has shown some promise, a comment that applies to Malcolm Jefferson's Again Jane, who will probably have less use made of her this time around than when she ran over course and distance last time out. As ever with these race, watch the betting market but, without the aid of that, we'll side with Monteforte in the card's finale.
