Verdict
Rendari gets the nomination here ahead of Tighten Your Belt and Labelthou. An Irish bumper winner, the selection showed some promise over a longer trip at Uttoxeter on his British hurdling debut and looks set to improve on that here in a run-of-the-mill affair. Tighten Your Belt is making his hurdling debut but won a Newton Abbot bumper before finishing third at Aintree in the Martell Champion Bumper. French import Labelthou showed plenty of promise on her British debut and, likely to appreciate this stiffer track, comes firmly into the reckoning. Winning German import Aqua Pura has yet to cut the mustard so far in this country but, trained by Barney Curley, you would be unwise to just dismiss its chances. Auditor won on the Flat in Ireland but his hurdling form is nothing special. French import Lorient Express has shown little in two British starts but this is probably the easiest option he ha had so far. If Raygale can get back to the form that saw him finish second in a Newcastle bumper two years ago then he would have a claim of sorts, while Nafsika has shown some promise but is maybe not a straightforward ride. Overall, then, we return to the nominate shortlist, from which Rendari gets the call.
