        Verdict

        A poor opener with the likely short priced favourite My Pal Val getting the vote with Redspin and Dubai Ace the possible dangers. My Pal Val is unexposed with only four runs under his belt. He has improved with each race and looked a certain future winner when chasing home Say What You See at Taunton on his last racecourse outing in December. He has proved he handles these fast conditions and will take all the beating. Redspin may prove to be the biggest danger to the hot pot. He has been a winner on the level on two occasions over extended trips of one mile six furlongs plus so stamina is not an issue. He has been highly tried in some competitive handicap hurdles so does drop down in grade here so is worth noting in the betting market. Dubai Ace is another who jumps down a grade or two here after finishing down the field in a juvenile handicap at the Cheltenham Festival. Prior to that he had finished in the frame in juveniles at some Grade one tracks including a ten length second to Zalda at Kempton so is another horse with a serious chance. But for the winner we will stick with My Pal Val.
