Verdict

Nick Gifford's Ohana has shown some promise in both starts over the larger obstacles, latterly a week ago at Fontwell, but he may have to settle for minor honours here with preference for Notre Cyborg, who gets the vote over Commemoration Day. The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained gelding is proving to be expensive to follow though and he may be best watched. Allez Frank is probably better than his recent start over hurdles at Newton Abbot would suggest but is hard to back with confidence after that outing. Contra Mundum is strictly held by Ohana on running at Fontwell last time and preference is for Notre Cyborg. Don McCain's gelding has shown gradual improvement over hurdles and transferred that improvement to fences when making a promising debut at Hereford when last seen in October. He looks worth chancing on his reappearance.
