In depth

Verdict

Dalus Park has plenty of weight to carry, but he loves it round here and is fancied to score again; Grumpy Stumpy, Happy Hussar and Ah Yeah should give him most to do. The latter ran woefully last time but had shown promise at Hereford in the spring and should be capable of better. Happy Hussar is an interesting runner as he has largely struggled in much better company this season, but has some fair form at this level and should be running on when others have cried enough. Grumpy Stumpy had achieved very little when he won here last time out, and although the form may not amount to much, he would still come into the reckoning if reproducing that form. But Dalus Park has never finished out of the first two at Towcester and clearly relishes this ultra-stiff course. His efforts here include an easy win in January and a respectable runner-up in October. We do have slight doubts about his big weight here, but with bigger doubts about all of his rivals, Dalus Park looks the safest option here.
