In depth
Verdict
With the recent rain easing the ground these novices are sure to find this a stiff test and will need to see out every yard of this trip, so with that in mind the selection is the ex-Irish Parsons Melody, who was reported by his trainer after winning at Newbury "to be a three-mile chaser in the making and who doesn't want to go any less than two-and-a-half-miles on good to soft or softer. He may have most to fear from hurdling debutante Bramlynn Brook, who impressed when landing his bumper at Plumpton. While that may not have been the strongest of events, he is a relentless galloper who will be suited by this stiff test. Of the others Brook Street has shown enough to suggest he has a little race in him and with his stable in fine form (four winners in the last fortnight), he may be one for the places, but Parsons Legacy looks a promising sort and can prove too strong for Bramlynn Brook in what looks basically a match.
