Verdict

Gordon Elliott has decent chances on the card and Set Point should give a good account for the yard on the back of a first career success over timber. He looks to be going the right way but has been hit with a 9lb rise and DOYENNA is marginally preferred in receipt of 6lb plus the valuable 3lb claim of Kieren Buckley. The mare has a course and distance success to her name, was steadily progressive last season and made a satisfactory seasonal reappearance when fifth of fourteen at Kilbeggan. She's always been reliable and should go well. Starman was a considerable improver at Kilbeggan on his latest start and the penny looks to have dropped at an ideal time for this handicap bow. New Ross - in first-time cheekpieces - and Laser Focus have both shown enough to be of note.
