Verdict

Backed into favouritism on debut at Clonmel, POLO LOUNGE did remarkably well to finish runner-up to Shanbally Kid. He made a nuisance of himself beforehand, was slowly away and didn't settle. His master trainer has had plenty to work on, but he's clearly got an engine and sets the form standard. The more experienced The Friday Man has revealed ability on all three runs and only faded late on on a first start for Gordon Elliott. This track should suit and he has a fair chance against the likely favourite. Ko Kate didn't run at all badly on her second start and boasts each-way claims alongside Angelsworknovrtime, who returns from a 237-day absence.
