Eric Delaney's pair Mater Matuta and Serpolette are both course winners. The former has been in reasonable form on the Flat but the latter is better over further on good ground. Betty Dutton could hardly be more consistent and was only beaten half-a-length at Roscommon while winning point-to-pointer Rebel Treaty makes her handicap debut from what could prove a lenient mark. Costanuci's victory here in June was over 2m5f so this looks on the short side while Redwood Queen was very disappointing when well supported at Roscommon. FIRST DARE won a course and distance maiden in October and has performed well enough in handicaps this summer to suggest she can take this with her rider's claim a bonus.
