RIPALONG LAD is the tentative suggestion in a competitive race where the recent, winning form of Grand Bay and Public Esteem ensure that they merit respect. Grand Bay was winning for the first time so there has to be some doubt about his ability to follow up whilst Public Esteem was allowed to dictate the pace last time and has 9lbs more to shoulder. Haldibari likes to front run so something will have to give there and of more appeal is Ripalong Lad who appears to relish a thorough test of stamina and comes here on the back of two solid performances. Daurica was behind Winsley Hill last time but her yard does well here and she's worth a market check with Jimmy McCarthy taking over in the saddle as is Mister Watzisname who has been struggling but has the ability if connections can get to the bottom of the problem. Triggernometry is a capable chaser on his day and fairly treated over hurdles on the evidence of his chase form and Elusive Muse can't be ignored either but Ripalong Lad receives the vote.
