In depth
Verdict
Darnayson can benefit from his promising debut to go one better here at the expense of Jonjo O'Neill's newcomer Different Class, with Call Oscar and Barton Park also worth noting. Darnayson is a half-brother to chaser Prominent Profile so that is no doubt where his future lies as well, but he will have learnt sufficiently from his Hereford debut to take a hand in the finish here. Nigel Twiston Davies' charge found one too good at Hereford but the third horse, the fancied Lord Oscar, was fully 27 lengths away in third and so the form is not too bad. His experience may tell here against the Jackdaws Castle challenger Different Class who is owned by J P McManus. The market may prove the best guide to his chances today. Call Oscar also sees the track for the first time and the same comment applies to him. His stable is very, very adept at getting them ready to do the business first-time out. Barton Park has speed in his pedigree and shaped well enough when second in bumper company here on his introduction last month. He should run well but is not expected to be good enough to take a hand in the finish, with Darnayson preferred.
