Verdict

Not a lot to recommend many of these although FLY DIRECT does at least know how to win having obliged in a point-to-point at Kingston Blount. The nine-year-old had reportedly had problems with a collapsed larynx but a remedial tubing operation appears to have been a success and he can finally get off the mark under Rules. Bennys Well was raised 5lb for victory in a similar contest at Worcester. He has performed previously on a softer surface although connections may have preferred it to be somewhat quicker. Carriglea Wood could be of some merit on his debut for Richard Woollacott. Formerly trained by Charlie Mann, the six-year-old owes his supporters having failed to justify favouritism on his last two starts. Go Get Em Kid is likely to have his followers but he'll need to cut out the mistakes that have punctuated his earlier rounds.
