Verdict
The Skelton bandwagon shows no signs of stalling and ANGE DES MALBERAUX could be another for the season's leading trainer. He is turned out quickly, frequently the case with stable inmates, on the back of a facile Newton Abbot success and will prove hard to beat if in the same mood here. Withoutdefavourite looks the obvious danger in receipt of 18lb after posting an excellent effort to run the progressive Lotus Pond, a winner since, to a length at Southwell. However, he is 0-22 under Rules and 0-15 over fences and the Skelton gelding receives preference. The consistent pair of Indian Reel and Chase Me are also worthy of consideration but both require improvement to trouble the selection on recent evidence.
