In depth
Verdict
Balmoral Queen was good value for her win over course and distance two weeks ago and is taken to follow up off her 8lb higher mark today with Mickey Pearce and Blackcomb Mountain rated the main dangers. The ground was fast when the selection won that race a fortnight ago and Ginger McCain's mare has plenty of form on a softer surface so there is no reason why she cannot reproduce that form. Assumetheposition lost no caste in defeat at Perth last week and is again entitled to be thereabouts but he may have to settle for a minor role once more, while Jack Durrance still held every chance when unseating last time but would probably prefer a faster surface. Mickey Pearce disappointed at Exeter last time but may do better back on this more suitable going today, while Blackcomb Mountain is another to consider if handling the underfoot conditions. The ground should be no problem to Balmoral Queen though and she gets the vote.
