Ultra-competitive but SHARP RISE has been in fine form this year and could prove classy enough to defy his burden against a host of possibles. He's over a stone higher in the ratings than when obliging at Kelso in April but loves the good ground and just keeps improving. It's noteworthy that Richard Johnson takes the ride rather than partnering either Carrigmorna King or No Likey for the Hobbs yard. Charlie Longsdon employs a useful second string to his bow in the shape of Germany Calling who has winning form here and didn't run at all badly in the recent hot Listed chase at Market Rasen won by Long House Hall. Ashcott Boy is consistent whilst Easy Street and One For The Boss are interesting sorts looming at the foot of the weights.
