Verdict
MADAME MADO may be able to make amends for returning a beaten favourite at Bangor. Santia and Flirtatious are two of the more obvious candidates but as ever the market will guide. Nicky Henderson won this race with a nice sort a couple of years ago and his daughter of Lost World was made favourite to win the bumper that Santia landed in May. As a half-sister to Le Volfoni, she's nicely bred and it would be no surprise to see her bridge the gap of eleven and a half lengths with Alan King's runner. Santia has obvious claims but it would be dangerous to dismiss her stablemate whose debut performance was not without promise. Flirtatious was a costly failure on her debut and the booking of McCoy for a trainer that knows the time of day sounds the alarm bells and she is a half-sister to the yard's Champion Hurdle second Marble Arch. Haveyoubeen could be worth a second look if the ground comes up testing; Alasi, La Patrona and Palmito are others to appeal whilst Tokahy could be one from a less fashionable yard to go well at a price. A good number to consider at this stage, the market may help to narrow them down but we can expect to see Madame Mado figuring prominently.
