Verdict

A dreadful contest in terms of quality where what can only be a tentative vote goes to Boom Or Bust, who has shown more consistency than either of his main dangers Molly's Secret or Eight. The last mentioned has shot up in the handicap following his last two runs and seems to have too much to do now, while Molly's Secret has solid claims on her last time out second behind Shush at Chepstow but had shown little prior to that. At least the selection has run up to his mark in each of his last two starts. Prior to those runs, both over 1m2f, Karen George's gelding has shown little over a mile, or over timber. Now that connections seem to have rediscovered his best trip, the son of Entrepreneur may be worth a small investment. Among the remainder, Anyhow is capable but inconsistent, the in-form Mark Brisbourne is represented by Green Ginger and Mighty Pip has a recent win to his name but is 12lbs higher now. All have to be respected but, in a poor event, Boom Or Bust gets the nod.
