In depth

Verdict

Bahamian Ballet can halt the winning run of Highland Warrior and gets the nod here. Corridor Creeper is always to be feared in events like this, while Steel City Boy also has a solid chance at the weights if Ann Stokell can force the best out of him this afternoon. The last named goes well at this course and, as he handles the ground, he holds a solid chance of making the frame if the dead-eight stand their ground. Corridor Creeper is well into the veteran stage of his career and has been a credit to his connections. The gelding still has a turn of foot on his day and, considering he was rated 112 at his best, he is thrown-in off his current mark of just 77. He does, however, need to halt the slide into obscurity pretty soon, as his pay days cannot go on for ever. Highland Warrior has won a trio of weak races but deserves plenty of respect as an in-form rival. He will handle the conditions and should again register a big effort. However, Bahamian Bounty still has room to manoeuvre from his current mark and, having gone close on numerous occasions this season, his perseverance can finally pay off in a race that should ideally suit his style of running.
