In depth

Verdict

A small but select field for the feature race of the evening and we will side with the Luca Cumani trained Idealistic, Mango Mischief and Pine Cone may provide most danger. Idealistic improved leaps and bounds last season, winning two competitive handicaps before running well in listed company. She was a shade disappointing on her return to the track in May, but the ground was soft that day and we should see a much improved performance on this faster surface. Mango Mischief is a class act having gone close in two group three events this season. She has the highest official rating and will be a tough nut to crack. Pine Cone has a bit to find on the face of it but is on the upgrade and shouldn't be quickly dismissed. Play Me ended last season with a win a Nottingham and looks the pick of the others, however Idealistic is expected to leave that last run well behind and she can last her first listed event.
