In depth

Verdict

Rosie Redman has Super Sammy to beat here, with Kittenkat the only other to make any appeal in the novice chase. Rosie Redman was carried out early on in the race won by Inching Closer on her chase debut at Newcastle, but has made amends in fine style since, making all at Market Rasen and more recently Kelso. The runner-up at the latter track, Fields Of Home, has since franked the form by opening her account at Sedgefield on Tuesday, and so despite a penalty, Rosie Redman should again put her rivals to the sword. Super Sammy has not been so super of late, not impressing with his jumping since being sent over the larger obstacles, but has a squeak on his best hurdles form. Kittenkat's last victory came over hurdles four years ago, but she did run well when a close second in the Devon Marathon at Exeter in December and will not be stopping at the finish. Apart from her, there is not a lot to say about the rest, and if Rosie Redman stays upright, she should complete the hat-trick.
