In depth

Verdict

Primaticcio has been off a while but if fit enough, can bounce back with another win prior to a possible crack at the Aintree Foxhunters. Primaticcio gained his biggest success to date in the Intrum Justicia Cup at Stratford two years ago, but has been sidelined since with a tendon injury. He has since move to Ian Williams who has put plenty of work into him and has decided to run him here in preference to taking up engagements at one of three other tracks. If things work out, he may go to Cheltenham but is much more likely to go to Aintree. First things first though, and it is hoped that he will be good enough at the first time of asking here. Kim Muir third Rathbawn Prince will be a big danger after his comeback run at Wincanton, and he too will have his sights set higher after today, with a possible return to Cheltenham for the Foxhunters'. Old Macgeorge owes his supporters nothing and should get round but the younger Doran's Magic, a battling second to Westerton at Kelso makes more appeal. He once beat subsequent Eider winner Tyneandthyneagain over hurdles at Haydock and is one to consider for the frame. However, if Primaticcio is ready, he will take the beating.
