Verdict

Timmy Murphy returns to race-riding aboard Fireball Macnamara and while there would be no more popular winner, he has something to find with a Monkerhostin on hurdles form. The latter although useful over hurdles, has shown he is at least as good over fences, most notably when runner-up to the useful Fondmort at Kempton. He will win races over fences, but he may be up against it trying to give 12lbs to the French import Epervier D'Or. Paul Nicholls' gelding was a winner in France for Nicky Henderson as a three-year-old and can make the most of the weight allowance.
