Verdict

LADRONNE, a dual winner around here, reappears on a fair mark having undergone surgery in September. He is 9lb better off than when beaten a length-and-a-half by Gallic Geordie here in the spring. Thor De Cerisy still has scope over fences but Eaton Collina looks high enough in the weights after last season’s exploits and may not have beaten William Cody on better terms at Ascot in April had the latter not fallen two out. Mount Tempest was no match for Iceo on chasing bow at Newton Abbot last month but will know more today. Cruz Control is also engaged in the 1.30 Ascot today.
