In depth
Verdict
Powder Creek can defy topweight to beat Dix Bay and Sir Night, with Little Task also worth a mention. Powder Creek has been in consistent form, winning two of his last three starts, the most recent of which was a five-length defeat of Katmandu here, the second of two course wins for Mary Reveley's charge. The drop back in trip should not pose a problem and he looks well up to the task. Dix Bay has also won twice here in the past and although a bit out of form lately, has ground conditions in his favour today. Sir Night scraped home in a juvenile event over Easter and may have more to offer in time, while Little Task is another who goes well here and has bottom weight. Prize Ring is not out of things if returning to his earlier form, but Billie John has an absence to overcome, so all in all Powder Creek appears to be the best option.
