Verdict

TWIST BOOKIE bounced back to form at Newton Abbot and is taken to go one better by getting the better of Some Touch and Blast The Past. Shaun Lycett saddled a welcome winner earlier in the week which may have signalled an upturn in the yard's fortunes and Twist Bookie may enable the trainer to end the week on a high. He's up in the weights but is competing at the right level and appears ideally suited by the conditions. Some Touch has been struggling for form since a fair run in October but the handicapper is relenting and this is less competitive than many races he's contested. Blast The Past hasn't been in the best form of late either but her yard is firing on all cylinders and she could be a threat to all if returning to her best. Euro American is at his best with a bit of cut in the ground and hasn't won for a while but he's by no means out of this but Twist Bookie is taken to prevail.
