In depth

Verdict

Doris's Gift, Act Gold and Great Grimsby are three against the field in a wide open handicap and the narrow vote is given to Doris's Gift. The selection showed improved form in first time blinkers when beating Ortega and although rising in the weights she could improve again now she has had her head in front and looks the one to be on. Act Gold rates the main danger on his latest second behind Lilly Tara but all his best form is on a slightly softer surface. Great Grimsby is another that could go well on his latest third behind Pocketwood and he looks sure to improve for this longer trip but this looks a tougher race. Rimsky Korsakov was second behind Smart John last time and if he builds on that he is another with place claims. Of the remainder, Lady Roania is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but she looks weighted up to her best and with this in mind for the winner we return to Doris's Gift.
