    Verdict

Tartan Bute has had a couple of runs over 1m4f though never looked like winning but KALAMATA completed an all-weather double before stepping up markedly in class and just failing to catch Dr Drey at Lingfield. She looks as though this trip will be ideal and gets the vote to return to winning ways. Gimlet looked an out-and-out stayer when runner-up over 1m4f at Lingfield so he is on the short-list while Heaven Scent scored over 1m2f as a juvenile and shouldn't have a problem staying the trip. Adherence has run well in two races at Beverley this season but will need to raise his game again.
