Verdict

ARISTO DU PLESSIS isn’t getting any younger but is now 3lb lower than when scoring at Carlisle around this time last year and Brian Hughes is back on board for the first time since. Grouseman was knocking on the door in the autumn and makes his handicap debut while Democratic Oath seeks to follow up a routine victory in novice company at Sedgefield. Sayar was second back over hurdles at Doncaster in January and a case can also be made for Fisher Green and Applaus but Ask Himself may be more interesting back in the right grade and eased in the weights.
