Verdict

A very tricky event that may fall to Brooklands Lad, the other four runners can all be some sort of chance, but Barton Hill and Nagano are put forward as the main rivals. The selection is the least exposed in the line up and does appear on the upgrade. He finished an excellent second behind Silvergino at Taunton last time and he must go well off the minimum weight this afternoon. Barton Hill comes here in winning form having gamely beaten Silver Inngot at Exeter last time out. He is possibly a little high in the weights, but should still be capable of reaching the frame. Nagano's form has regressed this year, but he did win a couple of competitive[ races at the end of last year. If he can somehow recapture that form he would be a danger to all. Tosawi and Barnards Green make up this closely handicapped field and it would be no surprise to see either one of these in the shake up, but Brooklands Lad looks the pick of the weights and gets our vote.
