In depth
Verdict
It would have been interesting to see how Dunlea Dancer would have finished with Nanga Parbat had the latter stood up at Wincanton last month, but on the face of it the latter looked to be travelling the better of the pair and we take him to come home in front this time, with Roi de L'odet another capable of being involved. The selection had jumped well up to the point of departure, and although those in opposition will say they were too far out to give a sound judgement, he had travelled well throughout the contest and looked a capable sort. Dunlea Dancer could do no more than win, and by a wide margin, and he can go well again. Roi L'odet made a sound hurdling debut at Windsor last time, and considering Nicky Henderson is still worried about they way some of his runners are going, he may be better than that. However, because of the feeling that the Seven Barrows inmates are a bit below par, we are prepared to oppose on this occasion, though the gelding's class can carry him somewhere near. Simonovski and Rood Boy look best of the rest, but we take Nanga Parbat to get it right this time.
