Verdict
Placed twice in the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle here since winning this race in 2016, SCEAU ROYAL (NAP) was having his first run over timber in more than 18 months when landing the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las last month. Though better known as a chaser nowadays, he clearly still retains plenty of ability over the smaller obstacles and has the highest rating of these. Solo was fancied for the Triumph Hurdle in March after winning the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton but stopped quickly and the four-year-old is giving weight to all bar Master Debonair. Diego Du Charmil finished ahead of Teqany at Kempton and is also preferred to front-running handicapper Brandon Castle.
