All bar Capeland are engaged either at Chepstow or Kempton. EVANDER would be strongly fancied if turning out here after his very impressive victory at Doncaster, despite a 9lb rise. But Gala Ball, who won this a year ago, made such a promising reappearance that he would be fancied to go one better if racing here from the same mark. Capeland had twice run well at Ascot before a poor effort at Cheltenham while Two For Gold couldn't handle Grade 3 company at Newbury after finishing runner-up in a Wetherby Listed contest.
