In depth

Verdict

Not too much recent form to go on here and so the safest bet could be Brown Fox, Ruling Reef and Whistling Fred are two that may get involved at decent odds. Poor jumping cost the selection last time but he had jumped superbly to beat Ryhope Chief the time before. No doubt he will have been popped over a few hurdles at home by his capable trainer to restore his confidence and off his current mark he should go close. Mark Usher doesn't have too many hurdlers but Ruling Reef has looked very progressive in three runs. He wasn't beaten far at Leicester last time and she doesn't look badly treated on her handicap debut. Whistling Fred has had a few training problems but is thrown in her on his best form and if he is fit following a year off he should make his presence felt. The pick of the others could be Guymur, but Brown Fox looks the percentage call and he gets our vote.
