In depth
Verdict
An open-looking maiden race but Jamie Osborne's Best Before can step up on a good Newbury effort now he is stepped up to six furlongs. A narrow loser then at the minimum trip, this six furlongs should suit him a treat. Cayman Breeze was disappointing at Nottingham last time but us well up to winning a race of this nature, so has to be respected. Pivotal Point's debut-run second at Salisbury also gives him a clear chance. Julian Ronjoyles was noted making late headway at Salisbury although that was a modest event. Maddie's Gem showed promise last season so might be worth a look in the betting ring, a similar comment applying to newcomers Ryan's Future, Cadeau Speciale and Holy Ryder, while Andrew Balding's Ripple Effect cannot be ruled out of place claims.
