Verdict
This race lacks strength in depth and it gives Krugerrand, who showed good form as a juvenile for Michael Bell, the chance to get back to winning ways. Now with Willie Musson, the gelding has hinted lately at retaining ability and would not have to have hung on to all of it to land this modest race. Even though he is rated higher now than for his last win, Thihn can also go well, while the other course and distance winner in the race, Den's Joy, must also be given a chance. Of the others, the lightly-raced Anna Walhaan is another to hold a chance, as is the similarly lightly-campaigned Thesaurus. Easier going would have pointed us more towards Diamond Max, but we'll retain a bit of faith in Krugerrand
