In depth

Verdict

Lady McNair has been running gamely in better races of late and is the choice here despite top weight, while Beauchamp Ribbon, Doris Souter and Senor Sol are also worthy of consideration. Our selection had an outstanding season as a two-year-old but has yet to hit top form this season. However, she has shaped as though returning to form in each of her last two runs, and from a good draw and with a fast pace guaranteed she should go well at a big price. Beauchamp Ribbon has been in fair form of late, but she found precious little off the bridle when third behind Liquid Form last time having looked the winner. With doubts about her attitude she is opposed here. Senor Sol was a fair fifth behind Suzuka last time out and has definite place claims, but his best form to date has come with more cut in the ground. Doris Souter was a good third behind Wondrous Joy last time out and is another with solid claims in a wide open affair, but with stakes kept to a minimum Lady McNair looks a sporting choice.
