Verdict

Rumpole is preferred to last season’s Kempton runner-up Footman in this but shaped as though a longer trip wouldn’t come amiss when a staying-on fourth at Newbury. DAIRA PRINCE is a half-brother to several winners including the top-class Chinese White, who won a Group 1 at the Curragh on her final career start. Roger Varian’s stable continues in fine form and it will be surprise if Dubawi colt doesn’t win races this year having run well in a couple of back-end maidens last year. Noble Conquest changed hands for 150,000 euros last year and will be expected to pay his way and Near Kettering is another interesting newcomer, though his winning relatives were generally modest performers.
