Verdict

Zamfir was last seen pulling up in the Derby Trial at Lingfield in May. He has the scope to be better than a handicapper but has clearly had his problems. Take Two arrives on a hat-trick after wins here and at Haydock, though both of those contests were restricted to amateur riders. Lawless Secret won her maiden here in August and made favourite Pivoine fight all the way to the line in a classified stakes at Doncaster. An opening handicap mark of 85 looks about right and Simon Crisford’s filly is going the right way but we like the look of SOLAR CROSS off bottom weight. This may turn out to be the optimum trip for Roger Charlton’s gelding, who has run over 1m5f and 1m2f since scoring over 1m4f on his handicap debut at Doncaster in June.
