Verdict

The improving Subcontinent has only been raised 3lb for his all-the-way victory at Doncaster and connections must be delighted but SHADOW ROCK looks the one to be on as he ran very well behind Maxwell at Salisbury and looks on a fair mark. The progressive Cornelious makes his handicap debut after landing a maiden over the course and distance so he's on the short-list while Sir Michael Stoute won this a year ago and Quick Defence will be fancied to repeat the process after a battling run behind Putting Green at Lingfield though the winner has been well beaten subsequently. International Name has climbed the ratings without winning though his dam won over this trip and he should be suited while Smile That Smile returns to action after her shock victory at Brighton in October.
