Verdict
Toby Balding was enthusiastic about the long-term prospects for Marker after her maiden victory but while the ground is far form ideal, it is worth noting that close relation, Duke of Modena, was able to handle the surface. Monsieur Bond looked something special when dotting up at Pontefract but has a major question mark about the ability to handle the surface. Babodana should have no such problems having won his maiden at Hamilton on heavy ground. Undoubtedly, this is a major step up in class but he does at least go on the surface. Aversham is another to consider. Although taking a maiden on firm ground, his sire was a more than capable performer on the surface - finishing second in the Prix d'l Abbaye and if he is up to that standard - he should be very smart indeed.
